Vienna Utility Board Members
Jim is a Retired US Navy Hospital Corpsman and Substitute Teacher in the Wood County School System. He has been the Chairman of the Wood County Historic Landmarks Commission, WV since 2001, President of the West Augusta (Wood County, West Virginia) Historical And Genealogical Society since 1997, is a member of the Wood County Historical and Preservation Society, a Past Senior-Vice Commander, Junior Vice Commander and Secretary of the General Benjamin D. Fearing Camp, SUVCW He performs many living history presentations on the Civil War Soldier and Civil War Medicine at local schools and public events. He is the Coordinator for Carlin’s Battery D, Wood County’s Living History/reenactment group. He has authored History of the Miracle Family of Ohio; John Andrew Miracle and Co. D, 63rd O.V.I.; Central Station, Doddridge County, West Virginia: Railroad Center to Obscurity, the Demise of a Small Town; and Beechwood, The Saga of a Steel Community on the Ohio River.
Jim was newly elected 2008 and is looking forward to serving the citizens for another term. He was appointed to serves as liason for City Beautification and serves on the Vienna Planning Commission.
Bruce was born in Parkersburg, WV. He attended Wood County schools and graduated from Parkersburg High School. In high school he participated in student council, football, track and A cappella choir. After high school he attended college at West Virginia State College, Marshall University and West Virginia University. He graduated with a BA degree in Education from Marshall University and a MA in Education Administration from West Virginia University. Bruce briefly started teaching in Wood County Schools until he entered the U S Air Force. In the service Bruce received Training in Air Traffic Control electronic repair. After the service he returned to teach math, science and computer in Wood County Schools at Jackson Junior High until retirement. He was elected to Vienna City Council in 1985, and has served as a representative to the Vienna Parks and Recreation Association since that time. He was later appointed to work with the Vienna Senior Center and just recently to the Vienna Utility Board.
Stephen Eaton is 40 years old and has lived around the Vienna area for several years. He has been married for 19 years to Lisa, and they have a 12 year old son, Justin, that attends Jackson Middle School. He and his family are active in the Vienna Wesleyan Church on 13th Avenue. Steve also has family members that reside in Vienna. He graduated from Greenbrier East High School and Glenville State College and obtained his professional licensure in Surveying in 1998. Steve is a member of the Little Kanawha Chapter of the Society of Professional Surveyors and the West Virginia Society of Geospatial Professionals. He is currently employed by the Parkersburg Utility Board in the supervisory role as Technical Assistant. Steve has 15 years experience working with water and sanitary sewer systems.
