Twitter
In light of recent events, the City of Vienna will employ Twitter as a means to disseminate information quickly to the public.. Please follow @viennawv for any future emergency updates as well as website updates including but not limited to: blog posts and/or city business related information.
As always vienna-wv.com will continue to be our primary point of interest for the community.
“ social media can augment communications in disaster. The public can personally use Twitter to do welfare checks and allows people to employ social media to relieve stress on emergency service providers. It is time for governments to carry the preparedness message torch while incidents are fresh in society’s mind. It is also a time to prove to any doubters that the correct use of social media can do more good to citizens than harm to the agencies using them.” - emergencycommunicationsnetwork.com

That has, and will continue to be our policy. Twitter only provides another avenue to reach people.
